Yesterday, I had my first appointment with a new tdoc again. I have probably been through at least 10 tdocs during my psych treatment and not clicked with one, but I’ve been having a tough time with stress and some traumatic feelings what with a near death and emergency surgery (medical, not psych related), the pain of recovery, etc., especially as my husband wants to focus on the fact that I am getting better and doesn’t want me to dwell on the drama. Right now, the bipolar isn’t that bad, but at times it is. She said she could work with me unless my weight loss/past with an eating disorder becomes too big an issue; then she would get me in with an ED specialist. My biggest issue is anxiety and stress right now; plus overspending & not sleeping when I get hypomanic or getting depressed when the meds aren’t working. It is weird to be in therapy again; I hope it works out this time around.

I don’t know. I haven’t really felt a connection before. One of the tdocs I had was truly awful; she would forget about appointments and not call me or anything. I’d be sitting there over an hour. A couple I knew were temporary, doing a post doc fellowship. Others I have not felt I could be open and honest without feeling judged or that they just wanted to get the 50 minutes over with and be done with it. This one at least has an emergency number to contact her for after hours/weekend/holiday stuff, so I am hoping she works out.
