Ive just been diagnosed with Bipolar disorder 2 a little over 4 weeks ago. Right now Im on Lithium 900mg and Latuda 60mg. I feel different from how I was but the question is how long till you start to really feel the differenceon the medications?

I'm sorry I cannot answer your question. But I noticed no one had yet replied to your post. So I thought I would.

Usually as a rule of thumb 4-6 weeks. Probably sooner with the meds that you are on.

I agree with guinness that 4-6 weeks is a good rule of thumb.
My pdoc says that antipsychotics kick in within about 7-10 days, but don't always take full effect until 2 or 3 weeks |

4-6 weeks in general
Strong AP’s can “ start” to work in 5-7 days depending on the med and how your body processes it.

tranquilizers/antipsychotics have almost immediate effects, -if- the dose is sufficient. when hallucinations are present, it can take longer for the drugs to restore lucidity. with lithium on board, I would expect a relative quick onset of a calming, anti-agitation effect.
some doctors use a tranquilizer w/ lithium, depakote, etc., and then taper the tranquilizer once the mood drug takes hold. |

I’m what my doc calls a slow responder. It took my meds months before they actually started to become effective.

Depends on the individual.

Zyprexa pulled me off the moon within 48 hours of my first dose. I don't know much about Latuda, but most meds that aren't antipsychotics do take a few weeks to become effective in most people. Be patient, you may have to try a number of different meds to find the right combination for you. Good luck, and welcome to Bipolar World.

I've been on my latest for four weeks and was literally told I should still be seeing change, so I'd guess what the others have said 4-6 weeks Or a bit more, like up to 8.

One of the interesting things for me about Latuda is that the 40mg worked better for me than the 60mg. It took me about eight weeks to adjust and feel more stable, then I started 40mg when I was on 60mg for a year.
