My Pdoc wanted to switch my AP with a different one. AP's give me Dystonia. He had me taking 2 for a week while I titrate. The dystonia I had before was nothing compared to this. I have never experienced this magnitude of pain before. And I've had 3 natural births. I'm taking my side effect med but nothing is working. I even dropped the new med. But it's still in my system or this pain would be less... I think so anyway. Any advice on how to survive this ****? Death, sweet death, sounds so good right now.

I am sorry you are suffering again.

At one point, you were getting some relief from Benadryl (diphenhydramine). Maybe contact your pdoc/pharmacist and see if it is safe to try Benadryl along with your current side-effect med? Please check it out fully with a qualified professional before trying it.

I hope you will contact your pdoc asap, as well, to get his advice.

I am so sorry!
I wish I could help.

I had severe distonia when I tried Geodon. I stopped after only 2 days. My doctor said that taking a couple of benydryl would help. .why your doctor want you to switch Meds? Was the other one not working?

I don't know what he was thinking. I was doing fine on my meds. He thought I was depressed and wanted to switch things up. I was not very depressed, just life circumstances.

MM, I took my night meds a couple hours ago, but the pain makes it impossible to sleep. Thanks for the suggestion.

Mug, You are totally right. Physical pain directly effects my mood and overall stability. Thats the same for when my pain subsides. I feel like a brand new person! Oh how I want those days to come back!

Thanks for all the love and support. I'm sorry it seems like every time I post I seem to be in a crisis. I do have quite a few good days, this past week just hasn't been one of them. But like I said. Thanks for putting up with me.

We are not just “putting up” with you! We care and we’re all rowing in the same boat. We all need all the help we can get.

Have you thought about something like this? --> https://www.mind.org.uk/information-...ntipsychotics/

If dystonia is causing you excruciating pain, then maybe you can talk to your pdoc about exploring those alternative options?

IMO, antipsychotics don't work 100% of the time anyway, regardless if we get side effects or not. So it's always good to come up with healthy coping mechanisms that you can use when you're in a crisis.

I have no idea what happened, but I woke up at 5 am with horrendous pain. I was finally able to get back to sleep and when I woke up I had no pain at all. I even cleaned my entire house. Pain still gone. All I can figure is that the new AP finally left my system. I still have to take my side effect med, but it works on me again. Truly a miracle.

Have any of your Doctors check to see if you have inflammation through out your body ? What level it is ?

Mine is ridiculously high so my pain stays high...

You might not have just Dystonia.

Worth looking into.

I’m so sorry you deal with the pain practically all the time.

I ate a diet that was for inflammation for awhile and it didn't help at all. Narcotics don't work, Advil does not work. The only thing that works is my med for dystonia.

I had such a great pain free day yesterday. And now I can't sleep because of the pain. I'm so confused.
Christina, what can they do for you if your inflammation is high? Any treatments or anything?
