Today we're driving to Guimaraes, Portugal. I'm hoping all goes well. My trip has not been as pleasant as I'd hoped this past 1 week plus. We did do and see some very nice things, but a couple days were not as I'd planned. No comment. Also, hubby and I argued a lot, which is not like us, and sad considering it is our 20th anniversary vacation.

Yesterday we walked around Porto, but it was very rough because I injured my foot getting into an Uber car. I walked despite, not complaining much, but by the evening it got to be too much. I begged hubby to skip an evening event we paid $50 for. He had no choice, really. I had an anxiety attack brewing in the Uber car on the way home. The traffic was at a standstill, but the Uber driver was adventurous and at some points drove on the sidewalk or where the trams drive.

By the time we got to the hotel hubby asked the front desk for an ice pack for my foot, but my anxiety attack was going full blown so I raced up the elevator to the room even without a key. I stood at the closed room door crying.

A sweet Portuguese housekeeper happened upon me a was alarmed by my crying. We didn't understand each other. She called the front desk and they explained, so she let me in my room. Hubby soon after arrived and said the housekeeper seemed very alarmed by me. I remained crying for almost an hour with the ice pack on my foot.

We had breakfast in the room this morning, which was nice. I took a salted bath. We'll head out soon. Wish me luck with my foot.

Yesterday sounded like a pretty harrowing day. I hope today is better & that your ankle holds up. Look on the bright side...You could be in Detroit rather than Portugal. Keep these things in perspective.

I do hope you feel better and can enjoy the rest of your vacation.

My anniversary "trip" wasn't that fun either, but we managed and had a good time anyway.
