Does metabolism increase when hypomanic/manic? Right now I suspect I'm hypomanic, and it has nothing to do with increased activity. I can sit for an hour reading magazines & books or watching a TV show, and I just feel like my body burns and burns through food. I get super hungry. Sometimes I eat more, sometimes not (depends if I'm working on a manic project and am too busy to eat). I will expect to gain weight and end up losing weight despite being on the list of meds you see below. Is this common while manic?

A friend of mine had a 4 month period of hypo. He lost so much weight, but mostly because he had no interest in food and his activity level picked up.

Everyone is different.
