Not a threat to myself or anyone else, but the group said I was having breaks from reality and I don't know. I think they're in on the thing too, but sometimes I wonder. I do know I was freaking out at work yesterday whenever I heard more than two people talk at once because of the same thing that made the group say I was unwell and I do I no longer have a psychiatrist. Do I wait until I attack someone and get fired or try to kill myself? I'm not much of a planner so I probably won't say "I want to die, I should go to the hospital," or "this kid is trying to convince me to overthrow the government in a way I'll get killed in the process, this is my mind screwing with me and I should radio in someone to take over for me so I don't flip out and scar him for life, and I should go to the hospital because nothing is real and I am now a risk to others."

Go in through the ER — doesn’t matter if you’ve a current psychiatrist.
Do you know of a nearby hospital with a psych ward? That’s where you’ll want to go. When you write of the “group” can I assume that you mean that you’re in “group therapy?” Go ahead and make the trip to the ER. I really hope that you get help. __________________ amicus_curiae Contrarian, esq. Hypergraphia Someone must be right; it may as well be me. It's a good idea to go before things potentially get even worse.

I agree with the others that you should go. It will be better than waiting until something awful happens and you get fired or hurt yourself. Good luck and feel better

If you're not in reality you could harm yourself or someone else.
Go to the hospital and get some help. |

I can't get myself to go. I'm not convinced anything is going to change, and plus I've only worked a handful of shifts so far and I'm supposed to leave because other people are maliciously influencing my thoughts and I'm not strong enough to get them out of my head? Last time I did something like that I got fired and being home all the time mooching off my family was NOT good for me. Since I posted this I kept thinking about all the crap experiences I went though in the hospitals, and am I any better now? Apparently not.
I don't know how they're doing it, but it hurts when they put thoughts in my head now. They're doing it directly and there is physical pain in my head, it feels like I'm being electrocuted. |

spike, several times you have referred to "not being strong enough" to combat your mental illness.
Mental illness is not about being strong. Mental illness is a physical disorder. If you had a headache, a broken leg, diabetes, cancer...would you believe that you're not strong enough to heal yourself? If so, that would be crazy thinking. Mental illness is not different than any other physical disability. That you are convinced about people putting thoughts in your head is a symptom of the brain illness you have. It is not reality. You definitely need professional psychiatric care right now. I promise you that I am sure of my words. |

GO TO THE HOSPITAL. You sound delusional. You could hurt someone or lose your job while you are in this state. You will feel so much better once they stabilize you at the hospital.
