I have been in a bipolar depression episode for several months. Pdoc has made med changes over the past months. I got a therapist that’s unfortunately doesn’t take Medicare. We’ve had ten sessions.

I am having Ketamine infusions and I had one last week with a clinical psychologist to trip sit me. (My slang.)

I had a very positive experience from it. I have my secret nd session tomorrow.

I have to fast past midnight and skip my morning Klonopin dose. No problem.

I’m optimistic but not thinking this will “cure” anything. However, I’m glad this is currently available.

Sadly, I recently read that Benadryl, Seroquel, Zyprexa, and some SSRI meds (e.g., Paxil) have been apparently shown to cause a 30% rate increase in dementia—-even if the meds were taken 15-20 years prior.

I’m still on all my meds. So this isn’t to freak anyone out. Ketamine isn’t a cure all. I’m posting because it’s currently a good outcome for my bipolar—it’s immediate yet temporary. Hence tomorrow.

Is anyone else having Keyamine treatment?

I tried it for Fibromyalgia pain. Normally takes 6-8 weekly infusions and week 3 the Pain med Doctor closed it. But I was hopeful for pain and BP. * sigh*

I haven't tried it, but I've heard good things. Right now i'm pretty stable on my meds. I'm not ruling it out for the future though.

I am glad this is working for you

I was offeered it a few years ago in conjunction with ECT, had it been offered without the ECT I would have tried it as studies show promising results.

goodluck for long term health
