Hey all,

So I just got out of the hospital after having a stroke early last week. Had heart surgery and every thing is mostly good considering how bad things really should have been. However because they initially thought the stroke had to do with my rhisperdal they took me off of it. The last dose i took was monday of last week. It has been a vital part of my treatment for years and now im worried that they wont put me back on it.

I dont see my pdoc for two weeks and the call of taking me off of it was my primary doctor. im just hoping one of my docs (which i see both in two weeks) will put me back on it. Until then im only on the limictal and now im worried about an episode on top of the problems the stroke has caused. I guess my only option is to sit and wait...

Can you call your pdoc and explain you just discharged? Discharged patients are supposed to be seen within a week. I worked for ABC insurance company as a mental health social worker. My oldest daughter just discharged and her follow-up appointment was within one week.

I take Risperdal too and have since 2012. I only had a problem in the beginning. I went to the grocery store one day and became real lightheaded. I was taken to the hospital as a precaution. Afterwards things were fine

I'd definitely call your pdoc and update on what's going on.
