I told the PHP doc that I am mood neutral. Yes, I get overwhelmed by everything going on and sometimes anxious but that's fleeting and definitely not depression or mania. He says I wouldn't know. I think he just wants to trick me into more meds than I need. Anyone else know how to get him to listen?

Sometimes we think we know what we don't know, so maybe you feel you are level, but aren't acting or looking level. Just thinking that maybe you should give him the benefit of the doubt for a while. At least while doing the PHP and see where it leads.

I feel for you, spikes. I like my pdoc a lot, but I do feel like she is giving me more medication than I need. Some of it doesn't seem to be doing anything, yet she insists that I stay on it. I feel trapped.

I would think about asking him what mood he thinks you are in next time you see him. It's not clear to me that he was disagreeing with what you said rather than having a belief that people with bipolar cannot truly judge their own mood.

I’d ask why they think your insight is poor. That happens, but you deserve an explanation...sounds judgmental.
