A friend of mine passed tonight. He was young, not even 30. It was my sister's best friend, and although I haven't talked to him in 5 years or so, he sort of felt like an extended family member or something. It all happened so suddenly. He went to urgent care a few days ago, ended up coding, and was in a coma with organ failure. He passed tonight, and it crushes me that it happened so quickly (over a few days) and he didn't even have a chance to realize what was going on or say goodbye to anyone. I hope he was aware that people came to say goodbye to him at least. I am sure he had no idea how much he impacted so many lives, including mine. I am sad to have lost him in our lives, but more sad for him for the loss of the life he deserved. I feel guilty that I have been having SI today (definitely think I could be in a mixed episode right now) and there was someone I loved who was fighting for and lost their lives. I don't know, I just am so sorry this happened to him.

So very sorry you had that experience. Use it as a reminder of how precious each day is.
