very high temperatures

I almost fell out today ... thankfully my customer saw me and put me in a chair ... got me a drink and stayed with me till I somewhat recovered ... almost every med we are given seems to have an ill effect when combined with high temp and direct sun ... I never felt hot at all till it just completely came over me all at once ...

please be careful as you move about and or work in these hot hot days we are having ,,,

remember ... Tigger loves you and I do not want to lose any of you ...

I’m glad you are safe! I forgot all about the sun and heat warning with most APs. We are supposed to hit 99 degrees on Sunday! I have already planned not to go anywhere. My car is a dark color and therefore gets extremely hot in the sun. It would not be worth it to travel anywhere. Plus my son hates the heat and would complain the whole time.

I have been walking fast outside for exercise when it has been 100 degrees out. I can manage this. However, when it gets above 100, I cannot deal with it anymore. I need to walk in the morning.

We are in a heat advisory Friday and Saturday, supposed to 110 with heat index. Hot!!!!

Living in NH I never signed up for heat, but we're getting four or five days in a row in the 90's. And I have a physical outdoor job. Hopefully we can have popsicles.

Thanks for the reminder about heat/high temps. and meds. I know I've got a few meds with this warning.

Where I live, it isn't just the high temperatures. It's the heat combined with the humidity, giving awful heat index values. It can be 88 degrees F here but have a heat index "feels like" temperature of 100 degrees. We have travelled through temps. nearly 110 driving from Houston through New Mexico, Arizona, and then California (father-in-law lives near LA). 110 with low humidity did not feel nearly as awful as 95 degrees F with 80-95% humidity. It's rare that the humidity drops below 70% here in the summer; usually, it's at least 80% if not 90% or higher, and thanks to recent rains, it is also crawling with mosquitoes.

I nearly did myself in with a walk this morning. Usually, I walk shortly before dawn, but I slept later than I meant to today, and the sun was already up. I walked for an hour. I guess the temperature was around 80 and then warmer. There wasn't much shade, and when I came in, I felt like collapsing, took off all my clothes except my undergarments and just lay on the floor (carpeted) until I had cooled down and guzzled several glasses of water. I really wanted to lie in the bed, but I didn't want to get it all sweaty and have to wash the sheets.

Make sure you store your meds somewhere cool. I’ve had tablets melt in hot weather in the past.

Oh great! I do not have any A/C. This should be interesting. I may have to go to a public library, or shopping mall. I can always stay in my car for a perid of time. Maybe take a cold shower.

Yikes, you're in Arizona with no a/c? That's more than uncomfortable, it's not safe. Is there any chance you can get a portable a/c, or a personal one that you keep nearby?

Tigger, I'm so glad you are okay and how very kind of you to remind the rest of us about the dangers of the heat.

I can barely tolerate the summers anymore. It's become just miserable. Our week-end will be over 100 degrees and I expect more wildfires and smoky air. The drought conditions are so bad now; the situation is not good, at all.
Personally, I love water and drink plenty of it. Water definitely helps cool me down.

I am thinking of purchasing an indoor A/C, the one that has a hose that leads to the outside. I was thinking of going to estate sales for this. However, that is time consuming. Still, it would be somethibg to do.

Here even at 90 degrees plus humidity it's horrible.

My husband has MS and the combination of stress and overheating made him collapse in the kitchen. He's sleeping in the bedroom with a portable AC unit so he's doing okay.

The "feels like" temperature in the Twin Cities today is 110 degrees F. I'm staying indoors where it is (thankfully) cool...
