I take lamictal, haldol, cymbalta, propranolol, and gabapentin.

Can any of these meds cause intense confusion?

I'm confused all of the time. I've even been missing appointments because I forget what day it is. Even my husband is getting worried.

Topomax's nickname is dopomax, so there might be something there.

I'm sorry about your confusion. That's frustrating.

Topamax could be doing it, but gabapentin probably isn't helping. My pdoc said neurontin's (Gabapentin) nickname is Morontin. I think Haldol made me stupid too.

As my doctor states, "Anyone can experience any symptom from any med at anytime."

maybe check in with the pharmacist?
I hope you feel better soon.

Topamax definitely can. Lamictal can too, but that didn't happen to me.

multiple anti-seizure drugs made me stoopid. im down to just lamictal and abilify. haldol made me stoopid, too, but...that's not everyone. at carefully controlled doses, it can be a very effective tranquilizer for some people.

have you ever tried perphenazine or loxapine? they're older drugs, but I think they're mid-potency, so less EPS than Haldol, less sedation than Thorazine. I think mid-potency also means less akathisia, but I could be wrong.

sorry about all this. :-(

Your on alot of meds that even alone can cause confusion

Maybe have a sit down with your Pdoc and discuss all your meds. “Sometimes “ a person is just on too many meds

I hope you find a solution

I had confusion spells on Topamax, and I immediately stopped it because it was obvious that the Topomax was doing that. I would talk to my pdoc ASAP so he/she can figure it out. Can you pinpoint when the confusion started?

The confusion may well be a compounding effect. I reached a point like this, due to meds piling up.
It was resolved by me agreeing to go into hospital. They were then able to monitor me as they ceased various meds.
I feel like I’m still on a lot of meds but I’m no longer having any cognitive issues.
