I went to check out Facebook, probably a bad choice in and of itself. The first post up there was from a woman I went to high school with, posting a series of pictures of her teenage daughter, jokingly posting, "Look at my bi-polar daughter!"
Ignorance like that just really gets to me. I refrained myself but I would have loved to lecture her on if she had a clue as to what bipolar disorder was, she wouldn't be joking about it. Or I felt like posting a picture of myself with the caption "Here is a photo of an actual bipolar person. Isn't it hilarious?!" I don't take offense at what a lot of people spout on Facebook, especially since I live in probably the most conservative state in the country and all my views on politics and parenting lie on the opposite end of the spectrum. I just gloss over the political posts and move on. But someone just joking about bipolar (or any mental illness) on social media like that is just so wrong on so many levels.

I have just resigned that “ Bipolar “ being slung around is just gonna happen. Do I like it ? no .....
I’m so exhausted I pick my battles and it’s gotta be something huge as I am not inclined to give a rats backside presently. I hear ya tho

Let the ignorants be ignorants. The word is in fashion now.
It's used for people, things, animals, ect. Like gay has been used before it. IMAO, the one root was, and she did it without any intention, I'm sure, Britney Spears. Or the press did it for her. You have a full plate to be suffering for this stupidity too.
