Wishing you luck. Something that might help is to tell yourself that "just for today", no sugar, no potatoes, etc ..."just for today" I will not drink. Sometimes it's easier to to think of it that way, then before you know it the whole month has gone by.

November 1st was thursday after drinking way too much on halloween.
I have never cooked with coconut flour. What about almond flour? I have an unopened bag of it in my cupboard. I never bake so am intimidated to try a recipe. I should try to bake with it tomorrow while jeff is gone to play for a veterans concert... I went last year, don't feel like going this year. Maybe I will change my mind tomorrow Sitting on the computer with my second cup of tea. Lunch was a bowl of chicken and sausge gumbo, no bread or rice. And a bowl of cabbage and a mustard remulade dressing to make a kind of coleslaw. It was my only veggie today. For dinner tonight I had the toppings of a pizza and did not eat the crust. Spicy tomato sauce, freshly grated mozerella cheese, sun dried tomatoes, mushrooms, pepperoni and sausage and jalepino peppers with a basil drizzle at the end it was delicious. 2 small squares of dark chocolate. (I guess that tomatoes are a veggie and so are mushrooms.)Well I took measurements last night and really was depressed. Things are bad. Not only has the scale gone up the inches put on have gone up, up, and up. And I am determined to wear the old wedding dress costume next year. bizi __________________ lamictal 2x a day haldol 2x a day cogentin 2x a day klonipin , 1mg at night, fish oil coq10 multi vit,, vit c, at noon, tumeric, caffeine Remeron at night, zyprexa, requip2-4mg Last edited by bizi; Nov 03, 2018 at 11:08 PM.. |

I ate eggs cheese, veggies(sauteed onions, peppers, mushrooms, and peppers), and sausage in a scram for breakfast today at the diner we go to on sunday mornings and I forgot: a side of steamed brocolli. yummy!
caffeine headache is getting better with my second cup of coffee. I wonder if it could be my body in detox? no alcohol for 4th day when I was drinking daily for months? I promise I won't count days on line unless some one asks me specifically. ((((HUGS)))) to all who need them. bizi __________________ lamictal 2x a day haldol 2x a day cogentin 2x a day klonipin , 1mg at night, fish oil coq10 multi vit,, vit c, at noon, tumeric, caffeine Remeron at night, zyprexa, requip2-4mg |

I'd had a fruit salad I make fresh everyday. It's quite likely you are going through detox. It may even get worse with another day or so. I hope you have a good day! Curried "chicken salad" salad. So lots of greens, oil and vinegar, tomatoes, cucumbers, about 1/2 cup of chicken salad, I ate it slowly so I was full. It seemed like a small serving, there were more greens, which slowed me down eating.
I had lunch with karen again. Have asked her if she would want to go to the gym with me on a saturday, I have the membership level where I can bring a friend, she said yes. So I am happy about that. She is disabled and I am not sure how long she could go on the bike, her choice of the equipment. I told her that I would be there an hour but they have chairs to sit down on if she needed a break or to wait on me. Dinner tonight was lemon pepper talapia sauteed in coconut oil and some cabbage/veggie soup from sandras health food cafe. It was a little spicy which I like. I ate one ounce of cheese because I felt like dinner was too light and I feared snacking later on. I do have almonds to snack on later if need be. I am still having hot flashes so I fanned myself and ate ice which helped a lot. I also drank a stevia (all natural sweetener derived from a plant) sweetened sparkling orange drink. Then I drank a black cherry drink also with stevia. anxious to see the scale tomorrow. I won't be too upset if it shows a gain because I have not gone to the bathroom in a couple of days. TMI I will probably have a low carb fudge bar later, oh and I had 2 small dark chocolate pieces after dinner. I hope everyone is having a good evening. Polls closed about an hour ago. We voted this after noon. I think that some of my votes canceled jeff out but he doesn't need to know that. bizi __________________ lamictal 2x a day haldol 2x a day cogentin 2x a day klonipin , 1mg at night, fish oil coq10 multi vit,, vit c, at noon, tumeric, caffeine Remeron at night, zyprexa, requip2-4mg |

Drinking black cherry cola sweetened with stevia called Zevia.
I drink at least one of these a day and sometimes 2. In the health food store that I eat at most days, they serve them for $.99. At the store I can get a 6 pack for $4. At whole foods I would easily spend $6-7 for one beer. Which led to another then a cheese tray, and not make good food choices. For lunch I had meat balls with spaghetti sauce over quinoa tabouli with a side of collards. For dinner: Had a pork chop sauteed in coconut oil and a side of cauliflower, then 2 small dark chocolate squares. Half an avocado yummy! and some more tabouli, which was so good!!!! Since I am dieting and not drinking alcohol I find myself thinking about them all of the time. I did a little bit of cleaning tonight, wiped down the laundry room window ledge it was filthy!!!! and I also cleaned half of my bathroom floor which was very dirty, with hairspray. I washed the purple bath mat because it was matted down with hair spray as well. now it is clean and fluffy. I feel better about myself for doing these things. bizi __________________ lamictal 2x a day haldol 2x a day cogentin 2x a day klonipin , 1mg at night, fish oil coq10 multi vit,, vit c, at noon, tumeric, caffeine Remeron at night, zyprexa, requip2-4mg |

I have a purple bath mat too! (Mine's like a heavy towel though.)
Good on you for the AF and making good food choices, bizi Keep up the good work. (I've been eating a bit better lately, but not as good as you, for sure.) |

I am resisting snacking on almonds which were my down fall and goto snack, in the afternoon and after dinner. Even though they are a low carb choice for a snack, they are high calorie and I still need to think about calories to some extent too. 181.5 this am. ( I hope my numbers don't trigger anyone who struggle with eating issues.) bizi __________________ lamictal 2x a day haldol 2x a day cogentin 2x a day klonipin , 1mg at night, fish oil coq10 multi vit,, vit c, at noon, tumeric, caffeine Remeron at night, zyprexa, requip2-4mg |

Not so much *problems* as laziness, lol. And budget doesn't help, though it's a secondary excuse.

We went to a friends house for dinner. His daughter was there as well.
We've been friends our whole time that we lived here since 2001. I have social anxiety even with them. They are laughing and having a good time while I sit there uncomfortable and not participating. Dieting and not drinking suck! They were drinking gin and tonics. I brought diet drinks. they had ice cream treats for desert, I just watched them knowing that I would come home and have a diet fudge bar. And I did. This addiction thing is kicking my butt. How will I ever do thanksgiving???? We will join a bunch of folks at a friends house for a pot luck dinner. I usually bring a green bean casserole and crawfish dip/crackers. I followed the no sugar, flour, potatoes, rice diet but how can i do this on thanksgiving? most every one will be drinking wine, jeff will bring himself some beer. I will bring diet sodas like I did tonight. how can I say this any stronger. I WANT TO DRINK!!!!! and I want to eat what ever but that is not what will happen if I want to lose weight. I need to sacrifice some to lose in the big picture. Would an ice cream treat really make that much of a difference? anyway, I feel I am babbling. curtailing 2 of my addictions at the same time is f ucking hard and that is all I really needed to say. bizi __________________ lamictal 2x a day haldol 2x a day cogentin 2x a day klonipin , 1mg at night, fish oil coq10 multi vit,, vit c, at noon, tumeric, caffeine Remeron at night, zyprexa, requip2-4mg |

It's very difficult to give up two addictions at once.
I admire you for trying! We are here for you. Try to hang in and beat this! Gabapentin helps me to lose cravings. It may or may not help you? Thinking of you, my friend! I agree that the 2 at once must be extra challenging. Strength to you.
One thought that occurs to me... have you thought about asking your husband if he might forgo his drinking, at least for awhile, till you feel more in control/adjusted to the lifestyle? As a show of moral support. Seems like it would be helpful. |

Great suggestion Innerzone!
Thank you guys for all of your support. Had lunch with a girl friend and had salmon and squash and collards and an avocado. Today is day 9AF and I feel much better. I actually went to whole foods and sat at the bar alone. I visited with the bartenders and drank water while every one was drinking either a craft beer or wine. Instead I ordered food for dinner: It took a while to get there and they played trivia, I watched until my food came. Double pepper jack cheeseburger with bacon and mushrooms(no bun), and a huge side salad, with romaine lettuce, lots of grape tomatoes, purple onions and cucumbers with ceasar dressing. It was very good. I used mayo and mustard on the burger. Not sure of the carbs but I am good with it. It was rainy and cold today and windy, reason it felt so cold. By tuesday night it will be in the 30's....burr! I got my nail fixed at the shop(Vi nails) where we are becoming like family. I love having gel nails, it makes my nails so strong. Am seeing a client in the morning then lunch with jeff at chris' po boys, chicken and sausage gumbo, then get my hair colored and cut. Then I have one more new client to see out of town. She has an ingrown toenail that needs to be treated. She is 95 years old and refuses to leave the house to see a foot doctor..... A friend referred me and I feel obligated to go see her. I hate to hear of someone in pain and having an ingrown toe nail. they are really painful, so of course I will go to help her out. Sunday we are going to see the movie about the band "queen"...should be good. I told Jeff that I was probably going to remain AF until our vacation the middle of December for the holidays. I told him how awkward I felt at his friends house for dinner on thursday night. I felt like I could not get out of there soon enough. They were all drinking gin and tonics. I brought 3 cans of diet pop and that helped a lot. Then there is Thanks giving at the pot luck, it will be a real challenge for me. Maybe I should drive separately I can say I feel ill. These are really nice people! Hope every one has a nice weekend. bizi __________________ lamictal 2x a day haldol 2x a day cogentin 2x a day klonipin , 1mg at night, fish oil coq10 multi vit,, vit c, at noon, tumeric, caffeine Remeron at night, zyprexa, requip2-4mg Last edited by bizi; Nov 09, 2018 at 09:57 PM.. |

Stopped by the nail place to get yet another nail fixed.
Had a good morning client then great gumbo and a bowl of cabbage remulade dressing with Jeff. Went to my hair appointment and the student did not do a good job. She put to much product in my hair...it looked greasy after blow drying it...I thought that it was still wet. So i reported her and after ward forgot to pay. Called when I remembered and they said to not worry about it, they took it off my bill which I thanked them several times. My afternoon client out of town was very nice. her daughter trimmed her toe nail back so it was no longer ingrown so I just sanded down the hard skin that remained and trimmed the rest of her toe nails. She said it felt better! Thank goodness! Came back into town and got home around 6pm. Cooked chopped up cabbage and onions and peppers with chimmichuri sauce and added pieces of chicken that jeff cooked for a stir fry. It turned out very good. Tomorrow is veterans day. I am one so we are going to texas road house for lunch(free meal for me). Then we are going to BJ's brew house for a free meal there for dinner. some time for the matinee, we are going to see the movie about the band called Queen. It should be good. The temps are getting colder as the weekend progresses. lows in the 30's this week. burr! I hope yall have a nice sunday. bizi __________________ lamictal 2x a day haldol 2x a day cogentin 2x a day klonipin , 1mg at night, fish oil coq10 multi vit,, vit c, at noon, tumeric, caffeine Remeron at night, zyprexa, requip2-4mg |
