Finally got into inpatient after the camp I work at called the police almost three weeks ago. Back on Clozaril but splitting it up and I have no energy. I feel so much worse, but I'm not psychotic. Well, still hearing some voices now and again but I know it's not real and I don't trust them anymore. I'm sleeping 14 hours a day, and that was while staff during IP were constantly waking me up. I haven't even been able to pick up my meds yet and they put me on some stuff for kidney damage. I don't think I can go back to the camp I work at. I don't even think I should be driving right now. I know I have to stay on the meds, but if I don't get used to them I don't think I can.

I'm so sorry the meds are making you so tired. Will you be seeing your regular pdoc soon?

I see my regular pdoc for about five minutes in about five weeks.
The hospital hasn't sent over my prescriptions yet. Wow. Still can't get my meds when I need them. |

I'm sorry the clozapine is so sedating. I think that I adjusted and was down to 8-10 hours of sleep until my dose was increased about 18 months into being on it. I think the adjustment took a few months and happened gradually although it was a while back. On the higher dose I'm pretty sedated but I'm also on a lot of sedatives and will be coming off some of the others once summer is over and my elevated risk of mania for the time of years is reduced. The clozapine dose will stay higher because it works so well.
It's a frustrating med sometimes but I've found I mostly don't care because it works so well. Nothing has ever worked 10% as well as this stuff. I hope things work out for you this time and that you find the same is true.
