So I know I made a post about having a bad day. Well the next day was worse. Thank god I had a psych appointment that day. My nerves were so shot that I was shaking and benzos wouldn't even calm me down. I was in a hypomania rage. I cried the whole entire day. So we figure ok obviously the geodon has pooped out after a year. It used to keep me from getting hypo or mania. So I heard of vrylar and my pdoc was ok to start small and move my way up. It's pretty much a brand new med so she said it doesn't cause weight gain or drowsiness like the older meds. I'm on the lowest dose and go to the next dose in a week.

Anyone ever take this???

That's my option if latuda doesn't work out. I hope it helps you. Not many people in here seem to have taken it.

I take vrylar which was kinda recently added to my combination of meds. It hasn't caused any weight gain so far and doesn't cause drowsiness. I'm gonna stick with it because I've had no adverse reactions and if it will help to keep me stable than I'll do it. So go ahead try it. I feel it's not a bad drug. Good luck.
Thanks for this!

The one and only bad thing I have to say is it's making me very nauseous and threw up twice. But latuda was worse. But mood wise I can't tell. Nothing's changed yet.

Let me just start with saying how thankful I am that others have posted comments on Vryalar and their experiences with the medication. Without reading and watching the many videos right now I would be feeling extremely alone in my use of the medication. So thank you everyone

As for my experience....So I am currently on month one of the use of Vraylar at the small dose of 1.5MG once per day. This is my second use of antipsychotic medication, in which I previously tried Latuda for roughly two and a half months.
Firstly I just want to say that since taking the two (in seperate times) antispychotic medications I honestly feel like I have gotten more negative side effects then positive. Granted I say this and I'm still magically alive (Yes sadly I am suicidal in mindset hence medication) and yes this is something I am continuing to work with my doctor about. As my doctor has stated many times everyone reacts differently to medication, however some very common symptons of the drug Vraylar I have been experiences on a very regular basis.

The side effects that I am talking about with BOTH antipsychotics of Vraylar and Latuda are as followed in list of most strongest side effects (number 1 being the worst)

#1: Throughout the day I feel like I have no energy, even after waking up by myself naturally in the morning.

#2: SICK so so sick in my stomach.... There has been times with both Vraylar and Latuda where I've thrown up and woken up MANY nights from sore stomach. The stomach aches are also sometimes acid based and heartburn like, and can be diarhea related (sorry had to add that).

#3: Anxiety is off the roof, causing the occasional leg movements and feelings like I should be doing something but the lack of energy causing things to become just worst. and I'm extremely impatient with things I've never previously had problems with. I wake up with constant nightmares and shaking bodies.

#4: I still get suicidal thoughts and I still have daily thoughts of hurting myself.

#5: The drug does not help with racing mind... Perhaps nothing will ha!

Well that's pretty much it, and I would advise if you have similar experiences to do like me and see the doctor as much as possible (my next appointment is tomorrow so please wish me luck). I'm not in denial that there isn't something that can help without bad side effects, but I guess I'm also realistic in knowing that there isn't anything perfect. Perhaps it's all about finding a medication that the side effects are "do-able" and not life altering like they are now. Good luck everyone and wish you all well. STAY STRONG

Hey there!
I've no experience with Vraylar.
Just wanted to say hello! It's good to have you posting!
I hope you find answers, soon.

Vraylar was somewhat helpful, but I developed akathisia and had to stop taking it.
