Anyone else this way? I was listening to my playlist on my walk today, and I realized that except for a handful of songs, most of the music on my playlist is sad. And yet I like it. Weird.

I have different playlists for different moods. My rainy days playlist is especially morbid. That’s what I listen to when I’m severely depressed. Probably doesn’t help the situation. I can tell a lot about where I am mood wise by my music choices.

I believe that any kind of music is a great gift. I recently read an article stating that sensitive people tend to prefer sad music. I don't think that's weird, I just think it's preference.

I am that way too. An ex once told me that he can tell where I am headed by the music I am listening to.

I like Irish songs that tell a story. Many of them that I heard are sad stories. I enjoyed very much listening to them. They affected me in a positive way.

This! However i remember listening to music with headphones on my bike blaring away at the top of my lungs with the music.

Someone in this waitingroom just said "It reminds me of a 70s song 'I like riding in the rain- nobody can tell I'm cryin" I thought that was cool.

probably need to find a cd with molly malone on it.

ages ago (when I was a kid), I heard someone sing that song and I fell in love with it

the person singing it wasn't a professional, just a normal person who liked singing

but not forgotten the song ever since
Thanks for this!

I'd say most of the songs I like are "sad"

I have a variety of musical tastes (including dance and upbeat), but when it comes to choosing what music to listen to, if it was down to me, I'd always go for the sadder songs

their's a certain song by a female artist which is about her sister taking drugs, and never coming back to the singer, and I tap my feet and sing to it like it's the latest dance release.
