she was 76...

R.I.P aretha

also not sure how true this is, but she died on the 42nd (43rd?), anniversary of the death of elvis pressley

RIP Aretha

Apparently she was sick for a while so she's not suffering anymore.

I don't see any point in bringing up Elvis. This is really about condolence and the wonderful queen of soul.

I bought a pink Cadillac for my 2nd wife, because of her song.
So we could ride in the freeway. Only in Florida they are expressways.
We had fun all the same.
May The Superior Power take good care of her soul.

Thank you for making this post. I mentioned it in the BP check in.
Aretha Franklin Queen of Soul was the first woman induced into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. She became involved in the Civil Rights Movement as well

RIP Aretha. May her memory be for a blessing.
She was a great lady. Yes: a Queen.
Aretha was ill for a number of years, just quiet about it.

August 16th was the anniversary of the deaths of Elvis, Babe Ruth, Robert Johnson, off the top of my head. Something to it.

I was never a fan of Elvis. Heresy, I know.

I’ve never had an Elvis record and back in the day when we had these things called ‘radios,’ I would change the station if a song of his was played.

But ‘Retha? She touched me head to toe.

Robert Johnson (pay special attention to the Devil legend - the "crossroads" is a tremendous legend in Black Blues culture...you can learn more about the crossroads legend by googling it):
Robert Johnson - Wikipedia

Babe Ruth was one of the greatest baseball players ever in the game.
