A social worker was supposed to contact me today, I thought in the morning with possibly some help, but nothing. I guess she could have been out sick or had an emergency, but I doubt it. I left a voicemail on the line she called me from yesterday, I think. Hopefully, that's her. I couldn't talk when she called because I was driving to get my daughter from school. It is now 4:41 PM CDT, don't think I'll hear from her today; she called from Houston, so she's in this time zone.

Maybe Monday.

Probably not, the rate my life is going

I am just ready to give up. I am sinking into a mire. No one will even throw me a string

Thank you. Sorry you're in such a difficult situation yourself.

Oh, there's a free mental health agency in Houston called the MHMRA, sometimes just the MHMR (and in certain other counties in Texas, like Brazos county, where I attended Texas & AM). I used it in college & grad school (University of Houston, Harris County, the same county I live in now). The one in Brazos county wasn't that bad, but the one located closest to me in Houston (I think still is the closest one to me despite moving out of Houston) sucked to the max.

I don't know if there even is such a thing as a local community action agency here. I'd have to Google that one. Texas tends to be a state that makes it very hard to get the help you need for little or no cost because it is super conservative and gerrymandered to the max.

I am sorry this has happened to you. Something may have come up that was unpredictable to her. Still she should of called you to let you know she has not forgotten about you. I think you should call her first thing Monday morning. I would stay on top of her, calling more than once a day. You know about the “squeeky wheel”. I hope your anxiety gets just a better for you over the weekend. You will have your entire family with you all weekend.
