About 3 weeks ago, my pdoc mistakenly prescribed me 5 mg of Abilify instead of 20. Once I realized it (not until a week in), I decided to stay on it, to see if I'd be ok on a lower dose (I know, I know, I shouldn't have...).

Since then I've seen something that wasn't there, and heard something that wasn't there. My dose of Abilify had been raised from 15 to 20mg a few months ago, because I saw something that wasn't there: a whole scenario of a man in my apt. walking backwards from my bedroom, motioning to shh and then leaving by the door. It was clear as day. I realized later that the door was locked (all three locks) as I had left it, and that my cat (who is terrified of other people) was at her usual sleeping place, not hiding under the couch, which would have been normal.

Point is, what is this about seeing and hearing things outside of mood episodes? I've had some extra exergy, more friendliness, and clarity of mind, but am positive that I'm not hypo; I'm really aware of that. And I really really don't think I'm schizoaffective. Have any of you experienced this? And if so, how has your pdoc explained it?

(as an aside, I've upped the dose to 10mg, per my therapist's urging, and will increase it again if I continue to hear and see things I see my pdoc in 3 weeks. I emailed her about the change in dose, she sent the right dose to the CVS and told me to take that dose. I didn't tell her about seeing and hearing things).

Thanks!

Take the higher dose so this stops happening. It could be schizoaffective but most pdocs avoid diagnosing that. I hear noises, get paranoid, feel bugs on my skin. Occasionally I see a non-existing bug but I don't generally see things. My thinking's generally off.
