I'm on 20 mg of zyprexa but I lost a job a few days ago and I'm feeling irritable, very irritable and starting to get a little euphoria, like the sun is brighter and I have more energy. Is it even possible on this high a dose? For the record, I also have rapid cycling.

You're also on a whopping dose of Prozac, which could trigger hypo/mania at any time. I'd look into reducing that, or you may be like me and need more than one antipsychotic. Talk to your pdoc ASAP.

Sure, some people get lucky and go into remission for a short or long time, and stress, life situations and coping skills come into play also; but expecting one dosage of one medication to prevent all bipolar symptoms in a stressful situation is highly unlikely.

Personally, I don't think its very likely. I was on 20mg for a long time and it basically shut down any type of manic energy and kept me pretty dulled. I'm supposed to be on 15mg right now but cut them in half. The sleep is nice. But sleeping 12 hrs a day gets old. But yeah, it could be triggered by another med or life events idk.
