I feel like every time I smoke a cigarette I feel more depressed. Is it possible for tobacco to make me depressed?

I don’t know but I do know that QUITTING nicotine makes me severely depressed. Every time I try I end up in a ball on the couch. That’s why I haven’t quit smoking and when I do I use a vape.

nicotine is a stimulant, so quitting smoking could cause depression. Never heard of someone whose depression was caused by it, though

Look up Nesbitt's paradox - nicotine has both stimulant and sedating effects, it tends to act initially as a stimulant but increasing doses eventually have the opposite effect, dampening neuronal action
