Depression creeps in,
An unwanted guest.
It tells me I hate myself
When I really don’t.
It tells me people are mad at me
When they really aren’t.
It makes me want to purge myself
Of all negativity and anxiety somehow,
But I’m left gasping and grasping at straws.
I’m lost, terrified, and alone.
I wish I could get some help, some relief,
But my doctor does all he can.
The rest I have to plow through and make peace with.
I can do this.
I think I can.

Are you sure your description is for mild depression? Or could it be more medium? I guess that may vary from person to person. Please talk to your psychiatrist and/or therapist.

Love your poem. Especially the bit about thinking people being "mad" at you. I do that too!

It is rather mild, maybe more of a mixed episode. These feelings are usually pretty brief, as I’ll often come out of it after having a small dose of Xanax and a bit of caffeine (weird combo I know, but it works) or some sleep if it’s late at night. Thanks for your concern, but those feeling were over quickly!
