My pdoc just added this to my line up because SAD has kicked in. Was wondering about pros and cons.

I tried it way back when it first came out and was called brintellix. It didn’t work for me but not much does. No side effects as I recall. Good luck I hope it helps!

It worked well for my depression but nearly three months in I got severe stomach problems that were found to be caused by the med so I had to stop it immediately. This sudden stop sent me into hypomania, then mania, then mixed with psychosis. However, I have always been very sensitive to starting and stopping meds so this would probably be a rare reaction. The stomach problems are not rare though. Make sure you eat when you take it. I really hope it works out for you.

My daughter was given the option of it or low dose Zoloft. She went with Zoloft and it’s been fantastic for her depression.

One of her reasons was Zoloft co pay 5 bucks. The other 45-50 bucks. She’s been on it a good 8 months now.

Zoloft also reportedly helps with social anxiety.
