Does anyone else seem to experience a degree of synesthesia when manic? I'm talking being able to turn things like musical notes and chords into colors, shapes, textures and positions. It's hard to explain. It makes listening to music fairly interesting, though.
Anyone else?

I don't actually have the blessing of synesthesia, but I do feel different chords and progressions thereof in different parts of my body. This makes my form of dancing very "unique" or more commonly called "WTF are you doing?" I'm feeling the music.

((((251turnaround)))) I have never experienced this. Does it bother you? Perhaps you can talk to your Pdoc about it

I'm a synesthete too, but I'm that way all the time and not just when I'm manic. I can "taste" numbers and words, and numbers and letters are in colors. I was in my 40s before I learned there was a word for it...I just thought everyone processed things the way I do.

I have thought in colour for as long as I can remember. It’s never been something I’ve considered to be unusual because I don’t know any different.

My husband experiences synesthesia, and has since he remembers. He does not have bipolar disorder and his synesthesia is not affected by any mood issues.
I have never experienced synesthesia at anytime. |
