I e taken it off and on throughout the years, never any side effects from it unless I take more than the prescribed dose.

I've taken it for eighteen months or so and it works to make me drowsy but doesn't make me a zombie the next day like some sleep meds can.

I take it for sleep, too, and haven't noticed any side effects.

At first it caused deep, medicated, dream-less sleep, but after a couple of years it stopped working, even with dose increases. Also, be careful because it is an AD and can cause elevated mood.

It made my entire body extremely tired and heavy. But, it never put me to sleep as it didn't calm down my mind. Many people like it though. And I wouldn't worry yourself reading the side effects.
