Doctor or therapist visit online. Through your phone or computer.

I hope it works out for you. I have never had such appointments. Really, I think it should be a last resort type arrangement, but it is better than nothing.

My therapist does tele sessions when either she or I can’t be In the office. We did a couple when her wife was having surgery back in October. It was just like a regular therapy session for me, but we’ve been working together a long time. I think you do lose certain things because it’s harfer to gauge your actual state of being so you have to make sure you’re completely honest but it’s a good choice if you have no other options.

I have never tried it, boogiesmash, but I hope it will work out for you! I've heard both positive and negative experiences with it. I guess it depends on what kind of person you are. But it's definitely worth trying, especially if you can't afford a regular psychiatrist or psychologist, or you don't have other options. So good on you for trying this. Feel free to PM me anytime. I'm always available if you need to talk. Wish you good luck! Let us know how it goes. Sending many hugs to you

Telepsychiatry gets a thumbs up for me because I know what it's like to live in a rural area and have few to no options.

But for therapy, I dunno. It can be okay for a session here or there with an established therapist like someone else said, but I don't think I could ever have gotten to the point of trusting my therapist like I do if it had all been done by Skype-like technology.

I never could get into it. I never liked the idea of divulging important or intimate information over the phone. Even if no one's listening, it just feels too anonymous to do therapy by phone or Skype.

That said, I do understand the perks. Convenient, cheap (at least the ones I've seen) and fast, especially in a health care desert.

Not for me, but to each their own.

I experienced it once while baker acted in a regular hospital. It was not for me.

I did therapy via Skype with my last T for a year or so. I absolutely hated it. There was no connection, it was hard to talk about personal stuff, and it was hard on my end to get enough privacy. I found myself driving to obscure places or sitting in my car because I couldn’t get the privacy at home.

I would do it again if there were absolutely no other options. But not as a first resort.

No way would that work for me.

T’s need to see body language as different topics are discussed. When I cross my arms or fiddle with my nail polish he knows there is work there to be done.

Pdoc ??? I dunno , as long as I didn’t get a pill Nazi I might consider it. My Pdoc and I agree together what meds should be tried or discontinued

Jmho of course
