One of my daughter’s dolls just talked and there is no one near it and I smell fresh baked cookies but the oven hasn’t even been on for about 5 hours. I woke up from a sound sleep and now I’m listening to music but my husband is at work and I’m feeling very scared. I am telling you, I am losing it. Something, someone is messing with me and I am losing my mind again.

Can you call your mom to keep you company? Did you take some Xanax?

I felt like it was too late to call my mom, although I know she ultimately would not have cared. She is retired and has no issues with sleep...although I may have worried her. I took .25 mg of xanex which apparently did nothing where .5 apparently knocked me out for an entire day. Or so it goes. I don’t even know. Confuses me. Blows my mind. I have no idea what to say or do and I have a feeling my pdoc may even be perplexed. I am waiting on a returned phone call from her now (she usually calls pretty late).

Hopefully your pdoc gets back to you soon. I have nights/days like that. Like I'm loosing myself in my crazy and I'll never get "me" back. It does pass but it may take a while and med change.

Xanax is like that for me. When I was sent for an AD by my psychologist the college health center put me on it instead. I took one and fell asleep in class and then proceeded to sleep for 24 hours and then most of the next 3 days. I was so furious because the health center had told me it would verify the Xanax with the psychologist and I couldn't believe he would have let them give me such a thing when he knew I was scared of meds anyway. Turned out they never checked with him and when he found out he made sure I was off the benzos and on the AD. Which made me mixed but that's another story.

I had a similar issue with Xanax. I was stressed out over a paper in college, so I went to the health center. They didn't really talk to me and gave me Xanax (with no warning about its addictive nature).

I mean, if I sprained my ankle, would they give me oxycontin? They need to be careful about benzos just like they are with opiates.

This was last night so I’m not quite paranoid. Everyone is in my home now. My husband is worried though. He says he can tell my thinking is skewed and he may place a call to my pdoc himself. I am chalk full of nervous energy. It is electrifying!

For me this was a switch from klonapin to xanex. It’s crazy how different the impact of such similar drugs each had on me.

I have occurances like this often.

Its not real and cant affect you if you dont let it. Just keep telling yourself that and similar things. It sounds overly simple and YES this is all scary... but telling yourself that you have some sort of control over how much you allow these things to mess with you is empowering. Just keep repeating it until you believe it.

Hugs for you because I know its hard

xanex can cause many unwanted effects ... I have heard voices seen things not there and such ... my pdoc says it is for sure the xanex ... and happens sometimes the next day or even later ... and I have used it for years off and on but at very very small does ... mostly for sleep ...

you hang in there ... your not haunted ... just very sensitive to xanex ... of course this is just my opinion ...

good luck .. becareful ... remember the Tigger ... cares about you ... and always will ....

Could definitely be! I hadn’t even thought about but I did just start them and it has otherwise been at least 2 years since I’ve had any hallucinations that I’m aware of. I will certainly mention it to my pdoc.

Pdoc didn’t call me back tonight but she is monitoring me closely. She’s generally out of the office on Tues and Fri.

My children just drug me to my lovely back deck which is piling up with snow. I can already see my appt tomorrow being cancelled because of the weather. Don’t even know what I’m going to do if that is the case. Fan-****ing-tastic.
