For a week and a half now ive been up for an hour or two almost every night. Sometimes I just wake up around 3:00 and don't sleep anymore. Ive been going to bed between 10:30 and midnight.

I also have had hypomania symptoms.

Right now I feel dozy and my dinner is still digesting.

Part of it tonight is that I feel lied to by a friend. He made a promise then blatently reneged. That doesnt answer for the rest of the last week.

I'm so sorry, Moose72 I'd suggest to talk to your doctor about this and see how it goes from there, if you haven't already. Hopefully he/she will be able to help you. Sleep is really important. I hope you'll be able to get the help you need and deserve. You seem like a wonderful person. I'm so sorry you've been lied to by your friend. That could definitely play a part in it. I'm so sorry, I know it's hard. Please don't give up. I hope things will get better soon for you. Try to hang on. You can do this! You're strong, I know that. I believe in you. I hope you'll feel better soon. Is there anything we can do to help you? Please let us know. Remember that we're here for you if you need it. Feel free to PM me anytime. Let me know if I can do something to help you. Wish you good luck! Let us know how it goes. I'm so sorry you have to deal with this

I'm bipolar and this is a regular issue for me. Stress, manic mode, geting into a book or researching something and before I know it, I'll only get a few yours of sleep. I'll lost track of time or just can't sleep from something going on in my life. I wont be tired and I'll usually use my hour lunch to sleep in my car. This can go on up to a few weeks before I start getting back to 7 or 6 hours of sleep. 2 or 3 hours starts to affect me after awhile.

I'll listen to rain and thunder or classical music through alexa and that helps calm me down. But honestly it just has to run its course.

Hang in there, all last week I was only getting maybe 3 hours a night. I'm back to my regular sleep mode. I had to work on a few things to get out of that mode.

I'm also struggling to sleep. I was getting 6-8 now I'm down to 3-5. And mostly I just lay here. On my tablet or in the dark. Pain is a major issue for me. I have chronic issues that stem from work, and fibromyalgia which is untreated because the meds screw with me. So I refuse to take them. The others available outside of SNRIs are pretty much Tylenol and a muscle relaxant which is almost not worth taking. So I'm sleepless a lot. It's taking a toll and I'm not getting my stuff done and I'm trying to go back to work. Working on next to no sleep sounds miserable...

I think you are hypomanic, hence waking up at 3AM. Maybe try audiobooks and upping Topomax a tiny bit? It comes in 15 mg sprinkle caps - you can up to 65 mg and see it it produces the extra sedation you need. Another thing is that I do not know about you, but I would react with hypomania to Trazodone.

When did you stop Zyprexa altogether?

I hope you can see your doctor and get something for sleep.

Trazodone helps me but I don't have bipolar. Abilify also helps, but some people find it stimulating.

Sleep seems to be a major issue for people who post in the bipolar forum. Hope you get more sleep soon!!!

Whenever I get 6 hours of sleep--I'm golden! I wake between 1 AM and 4 AM.
