I'm going through a phase relatively unfamiliar to me. I'm extroverted and very social naturally. Right now I just want everyone to bugger off and leave me alone.

I have insomnia issues. I got put back on to sleeping pills and a benzo to help me sleep. I'm still exhausted from being on zoloft. I'm also getting headaches.

I'm feeling grouchy and abrasive. Rather than rip everyone's head off, I've been choosing solitude.

Can anyone relate? I'm working on sleeping and headaches. Right now though I'm off work for a week and plan to just hide in my pajamas and read. Any advice or should I just let the mood run its course?

Hopefully your mood will improve when quality of your sleep improves, and remember take care of yourself with eating right, exercise and adequate sleep, and maybe see your doctor if headaches don’t improve. Sometimes headaches have various causes from caffeine withdrawal to stress and even aspirin rebound. Good luck!

You are being kind to humanity by choosing solitude. I would say let the mood run its course for several days, indulge in reading in your pajamas, but if headaches and/or mood do not improve, let your dr know.

Thanks for the replies. Mental health can be quite complicated. I've got BPD and bipolar and my mind is all over.

I'm sorry you're going through such suffering, but I don't know anything about bipolar disorder, though your doctor I'm sure will help. As for your headaches, I'm told that chamomile tea is a relaxant though I've never tried it, a nice mug of ordinary tea is simply lovely. I sweeten mine with a little honey. There are fruit flavoured teas, also rooibos which is a herb found I believe in Africa. Rooibos has zero caffeine.

Try avoiding your phone or laptop before bedtime. Peggy my preteen stops using her devices a couple of hours before bedtime. It helps her sleep better and reduces her headaches.

We ladies can be affected by Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) which can affect our moods causing grouchiness, irritability and mood changes. I find eating bananas help. They are rich in vitamin B6 and potassium, which can stop you from retaining water and feeling bloated. A single banana will replace the potassium you lose from one to two hours of exercise, but if you’re not a fan, oranges and avocado pears are also a good source.

Wishing you all the best
