Hey Tara,

I thought it would be good for you to have a thread, with everything you are facing.

I was just thinking about making a thread similar to this.

Tara, I wish you great luck tomorrow; you are in my thoughts for tomorrow. I hope that you wake up from surgery pain free. Sending you many gentle hugs

Thanks so much Christina! I am very scared. I’m to be at the surgery center in an hour. As I’ve said many times I’m not scared so much of the surgery as I am that it won’t work. So hopefully it works. I’m afraid that since the nerve that’s being pressed on is on the left but all my pain is on the right that maybe there’s two discs ruptured. I don’t know. They’re going off of an mri I had done in July of last year. I wish they had gotten an updated one. I should have asked.

Thanks for all the well wishes everyone! It means a lot to me. You all have helped me stay positive even through the tremendous pain I am in. Thank you!

Hey all! I’m out of surgery and home. I feel weak in my back and I have pain at the incision site but so far no nerve pain down my leg. Let’s hope it stays that way! I’m resting in bed now. No driving until my follow up appt in April so that sucks but I guess they gotta be safe. I just hope the pain stays away!

Good to hear. I was so happy when I woke up and the nerve pain was gone, I'm sure it was the same for you. Don't be in a hurry to bend and pick things up. Let it heal. : hug:

So glad for you that surgery went well. Follow up on your after care exactly as told, you don’t want to undo any good that has been done.

My nerve pain is still gone. I am cautiously hopeful that it will stay gone. My feet are still tingling and I still have foot drop in my left foot but I can deal with all that. My back hurts a lot from the surgery of course but it’s a different kind of pain than the nerve pain. It’s not as excruciating or disabling. I am so hopeful! I’ve read online that sometimes the pain can come back once the nerve (or something - can’t remember what) starts to scar over and I am scared of that but for now I’m going to try to live in the moment.
