I have noticed within the last 2 years or so that I have been cycling more often. My doctor increased my geodon and put me on lamictal days and evenings. As well as buspar, and trazadone for sleep. Once in January and just as recent as yesterday, I noticed that I cycled pretty fast from manic to depressed.
It was the first time I cycled that fast. But I may have been having a mixed episode. I'm not quite sure. It is all overwhelming and it leaves me confused and tired just thinking about it. Has anyone experienced this quick type of rapid cycling after med changes? I will bring it up again when I see my doc next month. I hope it isn't a result of my meds. I feel like I'm at a good place with the regimen I have now. Thanks, everyone! |

Its probably the buspar which I'm also on and I'm alway manic 24/7 but no anxiety or depression.

ah, gotcha. never considered the buspar, and I take it twice a day. I have noticed that I have been more manic lately than depressive. just the mixed states confuse the hell out of me because I feel like I'm cycling. Thanks! I appreciate you reaching out. I will discuss the buspar next time I see the doc.

But your dr will know what's best, as you could be completely different. I paid for the best pDoc in my city, I didn't like my insurance options. It makes a big difference getting the best if you can afford it. |

I’m a massive rapid cycler. Have been most of my life but especially in the last ten years. So many meds send me off kilter. Usually hypomanic first then mixed, and rarely straight depressed. It’s been a nightmare finding a med that doesn’t do this, and even more so a med that stabilises me. I’m terrified of med changes for that reason. For the last six weeks I’ve been stable so hopefully high doses of Geodon is the reason and I can have some peace. Keep fighting to find the right meds and skills to keep you stable. Sorry I don’t have better news.
