So I guess I'm not the only one with sleeping problems but I haven't had a good night's sleep in over a month. It doesn't matter if I sleep 12 hours or 8 or even more, it's always the same. I'm sleepy all day and when night comes I stay awake until 5 am, even though I take my meds at 10 pm. Are you guys taking something good that actually helps you sleep? Right now I'm taking Lamoctrigine 25mg twice a day, Clonazepam 0.5mg twice a day, Celexa 10mg once a day and Seroquel 100mg at night. I also take Benadryl 50mg for allergies. All of that and I still can't sleep.

I know my sleep has been wonky for a few weeks. Change in weather and more daylight can be issues. I’ve tried melatonin and it doesn’t help me, but it’s helped others. More than likely I’ll have to go on Lunesta again or something like that to re-establish a sleep pattern. It sucks but better than mania.

Aren't you coming off gabapentin? That can mess with your sleep as can the increased light this time of year.

I feel for you. My sleep has been off for weeks. Sometimes it’s my fault, not taking sleep meds or staying up very late, but mostly it’s for reasons I can’t explain. As it impacts your days I would suggest seeing your pdoc. Maybe something can be done.

I take Melatonin, but A LOT. I am worried that I might taking too much, but I don't care because I NEED to sleep. I bought an $9 bottle of 10mg pills and I take two at night. I am on Seroquel but not enough to knock me out me anymore.

Melatonin doesn't work for me, no matter how much I take. It just makes me really dizzy.

It is their fault but it's useless to fight them. I've tried so many times and instead of solving the issue they say they can't do anything. I don't have any extra pills.

I started with Melatonin 25 years ago. Along with any other natural thing I could afford. Ambien made me hallucinate. I have been on everything both sleep meds and off label use psych meds. Seroquel helped me sleep, but the nightmares and inability to ever feel fully awake weren't worth it. I have had insomnia since I was a baby. My mom said if she didn't have help from much older siblings, she would have died from going to work and exhaustion. I also have physical health issues that contribute to insomnia. I am taking 2 mg. Clonazepam and 25 mg. Promethazine. I can take it at 9:00 or 10:00 and am often still awake at 4-7::00 am. Then I finally sleep and have such a hard time waking up to walk and feed my dog. I am sorry to hear you're suffering from this. It makes everything worse.

Don't always think everything has to do with your mental health. Hope my shared experience might help you. Pych doctors are not general health doctors and if they give you sleeping medications it's going to cause you to have even worse affects and stop breathing even more. I highly recommend seeing a doctor and ask him/her if it could be related to sleep apnea. Have a great day |
