I've currently hit one of my manic states and it's different than I've experienced before. I guess I'm just wondering if anyone else takes on a different personality. I've been relating to a TV show too much and now feel as if I am these people. Any thoughts?

I took on personalities and switched them frequently during my episode. I also projected different personalities onto others.

I’ve done it before when I was younger.

Sometimes I become very obsessed with certain things, most often tv characters or languages. It goes on for few weeks and then I lose interest disappears.
I don't know if this is what you're talking about but I start relating to TV characters too much and become obsessed. Never thought that it could be a bipolar thing. Trying my best to make sense I guess I might be hypo right now.

I've experienced something in the ballpark of what you are describing, but in my cases it wasn't so much a change in personality as much as it was daydreaming/story telling to myself in a slightly dysfunctional way.
When I'm manic I know I am still me, but me to a more extreme degree. |

That's very interesting! I can totally relate - I've been that way most of my life but never realized the connection to bipolar disorder. Thanks for sharing.
