I took myself off of Lithium slowly two weeks ago. I saw my Pdoc yesterday and she said that I seem stable and I don't have to go back on it. She upped my Lamictal to 100mg in the AM and 50mg in the PM. Since I stopped taking it my thyroid function has improved, I no longer need simenet for my restless leg syndrome, and I am starting to lose weight again.

That's good. Glad your other things are straightening out too. I hate that when one thing causes another to go haywire and the meds for that causes another, etc.

I too am in the process of cutting back on the lithium, I am down to 600mg at night from the highest dose of 1500mg. my pdocs goal is to keep raising the lamictal to 300mg, seroquel 600mg and no lithium all together. plus the anxiety meds and sleep meds and onesthe give me the extra energy needed some days when I am too down and just want to sleep. hope i will do as well as you when the lithium is gone. Are you on any other meds?-Jen
