Hi Guys,

Been away from the forums for 5 years but life has been good. Been on my meds throughout the whole time, for the most part the same meds, some minor alterations to the antidepressants but same mood stabiliser.

Thought about going off meds recently but luckily my pdoc talked me out of it, if its working I'd be silly to mess with it!!! But the temptation is ever present to stop taking the meds.

Thanks guys!
I'm so thankful to both my doc who didn't give up when we couldn't find a med combo that worked and to the meds themselves for keeping me alive and semi-sane!

It is wonderful you were able to work with your doctor to find something that worked. Congrats on being stable for so long. I think it takes a lot of work and commitment.

Welcome back. I'm new and it is nice to hear a story of someone who has been well for as long as you have.

It appears that is totally natural and expected sometimes...for us to want to go off meds when we're feeling good. Glad you are doing well. It gives us hope!

thanks for the messages!!!!
@FearLess47 Usually something is out of balance before I start missing meds or want to stop, this time I think it was a lack of sleep due to my 4 month old bub. Sometimes I think its low self worth, like I don't deserve to be well...
I've learnt from bitter experience not to stop when well!!!
@Innerzone, good to see a familiar name! Hope you are doing well!
@fern46, I'm so grateful to my pdoc for all the support and wisdom he has given me over the years. I would not be here without him!
@BirdDancer, Thanks It was a lucky find when I went on the Abilify!
@Miguel'smom, good to see you again, sorry to hear things have been tough
