...or rewatching movies. I have a decent number of books- but I would't say I have a lot. Same with DVDs. In both cases, I've slowly been going through my collection one by one. I just finished "Haldol and Hyacinths" and have now switched to a Daniel Kalla medical thriller "Pandemic". Its nice reading books- so relaxing. There's another coping technique!- reading! Especially reading while it down pours Summer rain outside. My migraine has gone away with just Tylenol! (I'm out of Sumatriptan.) I've read this book before but my memory isn't so great after a while so I like rereading them as I've forgotten most of the plot to start with. Its the same with movies but books are more detailed and take much longer to finish.

I have a favorite author ( Shameless plug) Randolph Lalonde Spinward Fringe series.
For me it’s a comfort, familiar characters and still getting sucked right into the books. I have a few movies that I just keep watching them over and over and over, I have it all memorized.

When I'm down I love re-reading my Star Trek novels.....to go when no one has gone before, with a familiar group of protagonists. I re-read British mysteries too...miss Marple anyone, and though he isn't British Ellory Queen from the 30's and 40's I have hundreds of books it's always my to go method of losing myself but I have a couple movies I watch and re-watch when I'm down too. Golden Compass, Riverworld, Ohhh can't think of the name, the protagonist is depressed and is in synchronized to the end of the world when another planet crashes into earth.

I recently started re-reading the short stories of my favorite author from many years ago... the late Isaac Bashevis Singer. It's been so interesting to now, as an old man, re-read something I read so long ago in my youth.
