Our request to have a new sub forum added was approved. Thank you to the moderators who set it up and for all of the feedback that helped us get there.

Please use the new sub forum to post all of your bipolar treatment related information. This includes success stories, treatment methods other than medications such as ECT, side effect questions, withdrawal experiences, alternative treatments, etc.

okie dokie

I will post some threads to get things started. Perhaps I will create threads like "Abilify" and "Latuda" and share my experiences, hoping others will chime in?

Sounds good Bluebicycle. I plan on starting one this weekend when I begin withdrawal from Geodon.

That's wonderful news, fern! Thank you so much for making this happen! I just saw the sub forum. I will try to add a post, as well, to aid in getting it started. Maybe about ECT experiences, since I have had ECT and want to help make it obvious that it is for more than just medications. I was thinking of waiting until after you break the champagne bottle there with a medications-related post (you said Geodon). Is that OK?

Will the moderators be looking out for any future treatment-related posts in the general bipolar forum, and moving them to the new Bipolar Treatments sub forum?

Feel free to post whenever You can be first if you want. There's no line.

That's an excellent question. I hope so. I didn't receive any information about how it would work. I just noticed it was created this morning. I'm sure we can ask for support if we notice a trend of threads being created in the main forum. We can also educate posters as we go.

I started off some threads where people can post experiences.

I didn't create threads for meds like Geodon, etc. because I've never been on those meds before.

Also, I was thinking... Maybe we could have a sticky at the top of the forum that contains links to these "main threads"? I say this because threads automatically disappear from view after 100 days. They're not deleted, but they won't show up and the only way to see them is to search for them.

I like the idea of the sticky. It can serve as the database of available threads and we can update it every so often to add new links. Who creates sticky posts?

I can't seem to find the new forum

What's the name and where is it?

It's at the very top, right above the "Bipolar Success Stories" subforum:

I made a "master list" of mood stabilizers here: https://psychcentralforums.com/bipol...ml#post6622725

What does everyone think of that? Any information I should add/remove? I added some reputable sources (government websites, academic journals, etc.). I'm hoping maybe we could make a sticky out of it. And then I could possibly make an antipsychotic one.

Thanks

I "reported" the post, asking if it could be stickied so that it doesn't get lost. Hopefully an admin/moderator reviews it and can help me fix things if things need to be fixed, or if they don't like something about it.

Cool! Thanks Bluebicycle for all you've done to get the sub forum rolling. I think it will prove to be a very valuable resource for many.

Thanks to everyone else who has jumped in and added their experiences as well!

This is a good idea. I wonder if we could get one in the Schizophrenia forum. We get a lot of med questions there too

Thanks Fern for coming up with this idea and taking the initiative to get it started. I have been on so many meds and I like the idea that my experiences might help someone somehow.
