Either the script was written wrong or the pharmacy filled it incorrectly.
Dissolvable meds are for people who for what ever reason can’t swallow a pill. Yes it would need to be dissolved in your mouth, swallowing whole these types of meds can effect the absorption. I would call pharmacy first thing in the morning so you can verify what the script said... then you can call Pdoc office with the information you have already found out. I honestly don’t think she’s trying to run you off. I know you don’t have a great relationship with her and hearing about her I wouldn’t like her either. I real wish there was a way you could just find a different Pdoc, I know your options are limited ![]() Hopefully you can get it reordered correctly ![]()

Thank you, Christina. I'm trying to get a hold of my thoughts. Ugh, I'm so tired. Guess I'll go to bed. Will call them asap. I'm really angry

I called the pharmacy, so it was Dr. W. who prescribed the Lamictal ODT. With refills on it. Pharmacist said that sublingual is one way to get the medication to work faster. I really doubt that's why the Good Doctor prescribed this; I believe she just effed up. I am furious.

I’ve never heard about it working quicker but hey maybe ????
She should HAVE told you about the change and not just let you find out when you opened the bottle. I’m sorry you have to deal with such a lousy provider. I know insurance wise your kind of stuck with her, but there has to be a way to find another Pdoc.. I will keep thinking on this. Don’t give up hope ![]()

It possibly would work quicker, as it dissolves straight away in your mouth and can be absorbed even from under the tongue. It gets absorbed into the blood stream quicker

Yes, that is possible. The problem is, as it turns out, she screwed up. It would have been easy for someone to open the new bottle of pills and think the shape had changed, then swallowed the pill without realizing that swallowing instead of allowing the pill to dissolve would have rendered the Lamictal useless.
