I saw my doctor today and was prescribed Abilify 10 mg, while told to come off of Lamictal 50 mg. Lamictal caused me to have severe nausea, vomiting, suicidal idealization, dissociate every single day, and to go completely numb. I couldn’t feel anxious, love, angry. I seemed to feel irritated and guilty at times. It was miserable. But I am so so very glad to be going back on to Abilify. Weight gain seems like a big deal until you’re in the throes of mental anguish. I know some of you really helped me in my worst times. So, I thought I’d give an update. I hope all of you find what works for you and it works wonderfully for a life time. Here to better mental health

Hi ladyconfused! It's nice to see you back. That sounds good that your doctor took you off the Lamictal, since it gave you such terrible side effects.I hope this next try on Abilify works out very well. Sometimes second tries work better than first tries. I know with some medications that has been the case for me, and vice versa. That's one reason I try not to totally "X" out certain medications. I also have some medications that I know I wouldn't take long-term, but I would definitely take short-term because of their efficacy. The whole point is that you feel better soon.

Thanks for the well wishes!

Keep us updated on how this goes for you.
