A sure way to be ''abandoned'' is to post in a ''borderline'' ''pd'' forum. I haven't been dxd with that. No disrespect to anyone who has. I posted a bear there. I don't have many words to describe this pain. Nothing seems to be helping. A GP once said to me ''time is a great healer''. It hasn't helped me in fact things are worse now tbh. Please don't suggest meds since I have impossibly severe side effects

I used to identify somewhat with Marylin Monroe (not that I was ever that beautiful..)

''they sent her on a treadmill
and they made her change her name
and it seemed to me, she lived her life
like a candle in the wind...''

''the candle burned out long before
the legend ever did''

(not that i'm a legend or anything like that)

Hi Fuzzy. Maybe they misunderstood/misinterpreted what you meant? I don't visit that forum, so maybe they realized you don't usually, either. What do you mean by "posting a bear"?

Please don't let any negative reactions eat at you long. If you meant no harm, you have nothing to feel bad about. If they expressed anger, that's their issue to work through. Sometimes we have to stay in our own lanes. And as adorable as Teddy Bears and real bears are, even real bears don't always like anybody in their territory. I'm a little afraid of real bears, but I still think they're cute, but keep my distance. I write this because maybe it was indeed a misunderstanding on their part about your intentions.

Hi BirdDancer
All I meant is that not many people post there. So it takes a long time (If ever) for anyone to reply. Nobody has been negative to me in that forum, its just very quiet. I posted a grrrr bear picture there. Not directed at anyone (my bears never are directed at anyone, they show how i'm feeling, my pain and maybe some anger)

Thanks, maybe at one time someone did misunderstand my bear picture. I never post them to be mean.. why would I. I understand they can look a bit scary

We actually have a picture of a growling grizzly on our calender for January … they must be quite popular

I see, Fuzzy.

I can't be sure why that forum is slow, but my guesses are because there are likely fewer people with BPD than all BP types, combined. I think many with BPD are not even diagnosed or properly diagnosed. Maybe stigma is a reason (because of others' and perhaps even self stigma)? Maybe people with BPD are less into mental health forums, for whatever reason? I don't know why it's slow there.

I'm glad our PC bipolar forum is relatively busy. I'm glad you're here! 😊

I also think BPD is often a misdiagnosis, usually its complex PTSD from trauma (or at least some of the time) imo. Maybe there is self stigma as you said as well as the stigma from others. (I think stigma is wrong, although if i'm honest I did (long ago) try to help somone with bpd who is no longer there with rather a spectacular lack of success.. they didn't even seem to be listening to what I was saying But its such a complex dx and individuals with BPD vary widely (as with other dxs too)

I'm glad our PC bipolar forum is relatively busy too and I'm also glad you're here

Sorry, to hear about your severe side effects with meds. It makes things tougher to deal with medical providers whose responses are to suggest psych meds in spite of sensitivities. Anyway, that has been my experience with providers and psych meds.

Best wishes!
