Hi all,
I have posted on here before about bipolar and migraine, and everyone was very helpful. What happened last week was new, though, and I thought some of you might appreciate hearing about it. About six months I started a new migraine drug (Aimovig) and it has been very successful. I have had a huge reduction in frequency and severity, and none this year. Before this when my prophylaxis wan't as good the response to a migraine was to take a bunch of drugs and crash for as long as possible. At the end of last year I started a hypo-manic episode and my p-doc cranked up my Lithium, and has left me on the higher dose. A month later I had some non-extreme symptoms so he put me on Clonazepam and Melatonin, which the intention to put me out for a while and try to reset me. It worked like a charm. When I last went to see my p-doc I mentioned that my lack of migraine has been extraordinary, but that meant I hadn't had to knock myself out at all. I wondered if that was the reason for my spike in agitation. He was very receptive to the idea, and thinks it might be interesting being able to treat the conditions separately. Anyway, just wanted to mention it if any of you were interested.

I'm glad you and your doctor have found good success in treating your migraines. I know how debilitating they can be. I used to have them, as well, but they thankfully stopped. I have no clue why they stopped. Unlike you, I do not take any regular prophylaxis medication for them.
I hope your agitation eases soon. |
