Hi! I’m in Michigan and just found Out I may have CVID from Lamictal! Gamma Globulin up to 7 after 1 month off. Possible ascetic meningitis too.

Would love to learn more about your experience. I suffered months before a doctor would listen, and I still educate them most of the time.

Common Variable Immunodeficiency Syndrome. I had no idea Lamictal could lead to CVID. I am so sorry you are dealing with this. What a huge burden. I hope you get better soon!!!!

Thanks for clarifying what CVID means.

I have never had CVID from Lamictal, and I had no idea people could get it from Lamictal, either. It sounds rare? I suppose it makes sense, though. Some meds in general (i.e., not just for psych stuff) can negatively affect/suppress your immune system, and everyone reacts to meds differently. In fact, lots of people experience side effects on meds that aren't listed as "known side effects."

GoldCoast, I wish I could help further, but I simply cannot relate and have never experienced CVID before. I'm glad you're advocating for yourself, though! I hope you're able to find a solution to this problem, or at least a medication that counteracts the CVID. It's good to hear that you've finally found someone who will listen.
