have you tried yoga or meditation. Does your anxiety prevent you from sitting still?

Yeah...I've been doing yoga and meditating for several decades. They're wonderful when I'm feeling stable. When I'm not feeling stable I still work with my breathing and do relaxation exercises.

The churning anxiety was somewhat relieved earlier today. Depression also somewhat better. I'm hoping the Zoloft is starting to work, although the anxiety returned later this afternoon.

I am hoping you start to feel the full benefit from zoloft with in a few weeks.
tell me again are you taking a mood stabilizer right now? any AP meds?
zoloft can throw you into mania. so keep a self check.
I am sorry if you have already listed your meds.
for give me....

Yes, I'm taking Lamictal. Current (new) pdoc pulled all AP's. I would really appreciate a low dose of Haldol, but she's dead-set against an AP.

Yes, by telehealth. She's in New Mexico. It's ridiculous. If my clinic doesn't hire an on-site pdoc within the next 2 months I'm going to look elsewhere.

I do believe that my psychiatrist is Judge Judy's twin sister. *sigh* I will say that today's appointment, while hard work, was more productive than the previous 3 have been.

She flatly refuses to prescribe a low-dose AP. "Tardive dyskenesia", blah, blah. As if THIS is the way to live a life!

Anyway, she raised Zoloft to 150mg. In the past, Zoloft has been a good med for me. She actually shook loose and added hydroxizine. If I recall correctly, I was on that years ago and it was useless. But I'm willing to try just about anything, so I'll give it a shot.

Wow, I wouldn’t think a judge Judy personality would make a good pdoc! I’m glad it was productive tho.

I think the Zoloft increase is helping a fair amount. As for the hydroxizine, I'm not yet sold on that one.

Last week:

Zoloft increased to 200mg.
Stopped the useless Visteril.
Added gabapentin 900mg/day
Dropped Wellbutrin to 150mg. (pdoc is thinking it may be too activating.)

So far the anxiety is down substantially. It's actually at "manageable."

Glad you are feeling better.

That pdoc seems very odd to me. I've never heard of one that refuses to prescribe APs. Tardive dyskinesia is a possible side effect, but it's really rare.
