I’m having racing thoughts about a man I was involved with sexually. As a woman it is causing me to feel emotional. What should I do?? It’s reaccuring because it happened not to long ago with another guy. But, he didn’t get involved with me. The racing thoughts still persist.

Have you tried journaling ? Might help slow your racing thoughts by just dumping it on paper

I agree ...

Dump it out on paper or an online journal (or equivalent)

This might help rid self of those unwanted thoughts which never belonged to you

I do in fact journal actually I was advised to do that by you all for every problem. It helps a little, but I feel like my bipolar is making it harder. The thoughts continue to race any other advice??

Oh okay, I haven’t tried this yet. I don’t open up much, but I think my best friend might be able to help me feel better. Thank you for this idea !

Do you have any PRN medications? For example, some people find that benzos (Klonopin, Xanax, Ativan, etc.) helps them relax for a bit. Benzos kinda slow you down and keep you in zen mode.

If you don't have any PRNs or your PRNs don't work, how about meditating? Or, you can listen to music and focus on the lyrics. Heck, if you live alone, then you can sing them out loud to really force your brain to think about one thing. Audiobooks would work the same way, if you're into that.

Also, some people find that showers (especially cold ones) are relaxing. You could try that too if you haven't done that already.
