I'm not. lol.

God I need to do it, though. I wish I did.. I'm going to head off now to take a shower to get all that stank out. (Well, I'm not stinky... I don't think... but I sure will be if I keep putting this off for too long!)

I do. I exercise almost every day and work up a sweat doing indoor and outdoor chores. I don't fix my hair or wear makeup and I usually don't anyway, but I have to shower or I will stink. I don't like getting in my bed stinky.

Makes a lot of sense

I do not exercise everyday because I make up excuses not to do it, but when I do go for a walk or whatever, I do take a shower afterwards!

How do you feel about baths? I like the idea of them, but then I feel kinda gross soaking in my own dirty water. My kids love them and I promised them a swim in our jaccuzi tub tonight. They are stoked.

Yeah, I feel the same way about soaking myself in my own dirty water. I don't like baths.

My parents have a jacuzzi tub in the master bathroom. It is really nice! That is one thing I miss about living in my parents' house.

Love baths but mums tub is too small. A nice long smoke with moisturizing bath oil and lavender. Mmm candles lit. Oh I miss my tub.

Don't take showers daily as it would dry my skin out. I also don't excercise daily though I should do that. Yesterday I took a shower cause I went to the grocery store and pharmacy. Ugh had to wash and change clothes. Wiped down everything I bought too. So now my hair is sticking out and fuzzy from showering too close, but had to wash my hair after being out in public.

Nope... what's the point in wasting- water/products/time/clothes to just sit in the house. I'm showering every 2 days and I haven't left my pjs today it's nearly 7pm. I've been a wee bit productive though

I loved baths as a kid, (when I lived with my parents that's what I'd have)

favorite parts were playing with my rubber ducky, and banging on the bottom of bath when the water had gone so that my parents could come dry me.

now I just think they are gross

plus I'm too big for the tub

ah the good old days though

rip

I don't shower daily

I don't smell most of the time, and It's not like I am going to have people round or go anywhere

it also takes a lot out of me (in terms of being in pain). it's very draining for me

I showered today and did my nails but even today I didn't smell, friday is just a good day to shower

I either take one everyday or every other day depending on how I'm feeling. Lately I've been avoiding it more often due to feeling disgusted with my body and not wanting to see it. (recovering from an ED) But I'm trying to get over that

There has been no change in my self care since the covid 19 pandemic. I am not a frequent bather, but I do if/when I finally think it's time. That's not daily. I actually sweat a lot (for various reasons), and when I really feel I stink, I do get my butt in the shower.

My husband generally showers M-F when he reports to the office, but he doesn't always shower on weekends. He's showered less since working from home. He is a Czech. As Czechs go, he showers often. I believe Czechs shower more often nowadays than they used to in the past. In fact, in the past, most people didn't shower/bath daily. The whole daily shower (and in many cases daily hair washing) is a more modern thing. The pressure for daily showers is likely a result of the soap and shampoo industries. People picked up on that and the pressure/shaming began.

I'd like to add that the whole idea of the "washcloth bath" is not dead in modern times.

I'm afraid of water so even on in a normal time I shower as little as my contract of self-care will allow. I'm sticking to my contract. The alternative is not pleasant.

I agree. Aside from ramping it up in the summertime (for obvious reasons), most of the year I shower twice a week. It is plenty. And no, I don't stink.
Localized/washcloth washing is legit too.

Excellent point. Conservation of resources is good. At all times.

I typically take a shower every night or every other night. My mom always made us take showers at night cause no one likes getting up early lol. I like the feeling of being clean but sometimes it can take a lot to get me into a shower when I am depressed. Right now I'm in a low phase, but I'm trying to shower as much as possible that isn't excessive either way.

Yeah, I have problems with showering when I'm depressed too.

What helps me sometimes is finding a reason to do it, even if it's silly. For example, maybe I'm going to see my pdoc or therapist via teletherapy/telepsychiatry, so I should probably take a shower so that my hair doesn't look greasy in the video. Or maybe I can force myself to go out for a walk to help my mood, and after the walk, I need to shower because I may have broken a sweat.

I don't know if that makes sense, but I try to give myself reasons to do it. I even make up reasons, like, "Maybe I'll FaceTime my parents and I don't want to look sloppy on video." Or, "I guess I'll pick up my meds from the pharmacy, so I don't want to be smelly or yucky looking, even if it's only through the drive thru."

That's how I've tried to motivate myself. Admittedly, it hasn't worked 100% of the time, but it helps.

In my 20's I had a god awful depression for 3 months , I was going a week or 2 with out showering , Yuck

So every day since then I have made myself a law.... I shower every signal day, I do not wash my hair everyday, thats twice a way unless Im outside working and sweating. As soon as I get out of the shower I use CeraVe body cream so my skin is always moisterized and soft.
The only time I didnt daily was when I had H1N1 and literally could not stand up..

This is just part of keeping structure in my life

I always shower days that I go to work. On my off days I usually still shower every day but skip one here and there.

I have been showering every couple of days. When I was going to work still (currently teleworking) I started showering when I got home each day and putting on fresh clothes so that I wasn't tracking anything throughout my apartment. I am not sure it's necessary every day if I am not even leaving my apartment, sweating much etc. If I work out then I will shower that day.

Yes, I call it my lunch shower (I use my 30 min lunch break to shower - i have to clock in and out for lunch) but I have been wearing the same t-shirt, yoga pants and sweatshirt for like 3 days in a row and then I switch to a new set. I did take a bubble bath last night and that was actually nice. Side note: no point in shaving my legs when I'm stuck indoors solo.

I shower nightly except when I’m depressed. I don’t like going to bed with the day still on me.

We had some household drama today, and I took a fake shower. Brought a book into the bathroom, turned on the shower, and sat on the toilet (seat down With being cooped up in our homes, how many of you are taking showers everyday?) and read for about 30 minutes just to get some alone time. Had my earbuds in too.

No. I am very very bad about this. When i was living with my mother after i got fired for the last time, one time it was about ten days that i hadnt showered, and she told me i smelled like a goat! So now that makes me laugh. Cuz most of the time she would purposely ignore me, to where i came to believe that people truly didnt see what i was doing. I mean as a child, but it messes with your mind. Anyway, so now smelling like a goat makes me feel present. I know, i need to turn that around and make smelling like flowers my new motivation.

I used to shower at the gym, so my schedule is off in so many ways with the gym being closed. The poor dog must be exhausted from the multi mile walks!!! Are!
Today I bought some nice lavender bath oil at Wallie World. Looking forward to soaking in the bubbles!

I shower everyday even though I`m depressed. I think my OCD contributes to that . I wouldn`t want to smell . That`s totally gross to me.

I normally take one Monday, Wednesday, Friday. I've fallen off that schedule and I don't think I've gotten out of my PJ pants with the exception of my job interview in like a month.
