This includes teletherapy and telepsychiatry, as well as seeing them in person (if they allow it).
Me personally? Therapist is once a week as of late. Pdoc is once a month or once every two months. My pdoc typically wants me to see him once every few months regardless of my mood, so I really do not think he cares all that much. I am kinda stuck being on my own for a while in that respect. |

I hate how that these days, so much of my contact with my therapist is by email only. while it's not the worst thing in the world (at least we are talking and I am sharing how I feel) it almost feels like we are drifting apart because we don't have that face to face conection

@raging vortex: I can imagine how difficult email must be. I do not know how I would handle myself in that situation, but I would probably feel the same as you with regards to feeling like we're drifting apart.
Also, I am sorry to hear that the phone convos aren't going well. Have you considered writing down notes or a list beforehand about what you want to discuss with her? |

I always "meet" with my therapist once per week. Since the shelter in place, we have had three video sessions (last three weeks). As for my psychiatrist, I almost always meet him every 3 weeks, or sometimes every 2 weeks. I have had one video session with him since the covid stuff really kicked in. I'll have my second video session with him next Wednesday.
I do much prefer seeing my therapist and psychiatrist in person. Especially my psychiatrist! There is definitely something lost by having the sessions by video. I don't miss the drive to my therapist's office (high traffic/stress). The drive to my psychiatrist's office is easy and pleasant since it's only about 6 minutes away by car on a pleasant back road. If I was in better shape, I could even walk or bike to my psychiatrist's office. It's only 2 1/2 miles away, but there is a killer long hill to get there. I'd be a sweat hog if I tried. Fortunately, I still see my pdoc in person. I see him for a whole hour once a month. He is also my therapist.

I am seeing my therapist once a month as usual. We did an online chat yesterday and it was fine. I have no issues with this format.
I see my psychiatrist every three months.y appointment is today. He said last time that I don't need to come anymore if I am well after this appointment and I will only need to go as needed. |

Until just now my pdoc and t were seeing people in person. They still are, but my T has the option to do appointments over the phone (which I opted for for my next appointment). I still talk to her every two weeks, and my pdoc every two months.

I don't blame you for not wanting to bike up a hill. Definitely no one wants to be sweaty and icky when they go to any kind of doctor's appointment, be it therapy, pdoc, GP, some other specialist, etc.! I actually find it kind of embarrassing when I go somewhere in public (besides the gym) and I'm sweaty. Sort of off topic, but I love biking even though I haven't done it in 2 years. I miss it a lot. But Moose72 said something that reminded me to bring my bike to my apartment, now that I have space for it. (I just got a single car garage spot for my car back in January, so I can shove it in there and it'll be locked up.) Maybe I can go get it and do some biking this weekend or something. |

I think my therapy office is still open, but both of my providers (pdoc and T) are working from home. I don't know how many providers are still working from the office. I'm a huge germaphobe, though, so I don't think I'd go even if my providers were still working from the office. However, I do prefer in-person for sure, and I plan to switch back once this COVID-19 crap is all over. |

I hope your first phone appt goes well for you. I'm surprised they didn't offer video chat, though. Huh...

He thinks I should stay in therapy for the foreseeable future and I agree. I will still be a patient there and he has let me know I can call any time I have a concern for any reason. My husband has the number as well. If I need meds again, he will be the first person I call. I don't have anxiety or any other conditions I am aware of. I'm addressing my trauma PTSD in therapy and in my own daily work. |

Same number of visits just over the computer now instead of in person.

Right now my phone appointments with psychiatrist and therapist are once a month. I also have a care manager, she’s working from home too but due to the stress in the world over the virus and the effect it can have on our mental health they’re calling to check in with me and anyone else they see once a week for now rather than once a month

I used to see my pdoc once/week. Now we speak on the phone instead. It's not too difficult, talking with her on the phone. It's pretty much a straight conversation because it's about meds.
I'm used to seeing my therapist twice per week. Now we're doing the phone sessions and I HATE it. Therapy is going no where...I feel like not seeing each other in her office is essentially ending my therapy with her. It's basically dwindled down to 2 friends chatting on the phone. I really don't know what to do at this point. If lock down continues through June I can't see continuing so-called "therapy." __________________ |

Therapist, twice a week. Psychiatrist, once week. Both phone sessions by my choice. I'm really doing fine with phone therapy/psychiatry. I was homebound and hospital confined for cancer treatment for 5 months a couple of years ago. I became very comfortable doing therapy/ psychiatry by phone. This is more of the same.

Therapy...once every two weeks. NP...every three months. Teletherapy feels strange. I don’t like it.

My t is doing video calls but I haven’t seen her because I’m doing well. I usually see her every 3 weeks minimum even when well but because of the circumstances, I’ve decided just to not see her until this is cleared or unless I have an episode. I’m only having appointments with my pdoc every 3 months since I’m well. She’s doing phone appointments and I just had one last week.
