Does anyone else get hallucinations when their sleep is out of whack? I'm not talking about hypnagogic or hypnopompic hallucinations, but rather, ones that occur during the day because your sleep is messed up .
I keep hearing things that aren't there and I sense a presence again (as of an hour ago), but my therapist says they're not real, and to ground myself by doing fact checking. I've been getting about 5-7 hours a night -- although occasionally 8 -- when I normally need 10 because my meds sedate me. I cannot tell if my mood is elevated or not. I can never tell. My therapist seems to think that my mood gets elevated regardless of sleep, so that just makes matters more complicated. |

Yes, lack of/not enough sleep can cause me to have more symptoms/ hallucinations during the day

The years I had insomnia, yes-----I used to hear music sometimes, sometimes a voice calling my name or making a statement, and I would sometimes feel a presence (eg: I worked in a student rathskeller and when I would go in back before opening I would hear the jukebox and "know" someone was at the counter even though I knew they could not be...on closing, I would feel as if something was rushing at me as I closed the doors)
It was a long time ago but I remember .... not fun. __________________ "...don't say Home / the bones of that word mend slowly...' marie harris |

Yeah, I had a graveyard shift for awhile and had quite a few such incidents.

I get alot of hallucinations auditory, visual and tactile at times, Its usually when I am highly stressed. But I usually can fact check and ground myself pretty easy.. Lack of sleep is a big issue for me, but im kinda on a schedule now. right now I am up 3 days and then I sleep then up for another 3 days.

Lack of sleep renders me incapable of doing life. I don't think I have more hallucinations or delusions, though. Well, actually I think I have more noise in my mind and weird thoughts.
Since sheltering in place I've been sleeping 16 hours a day. I wish I could hibernate through this whole nightmare. And I'm afraid of hallucinations from all this stress. __________________ |
