Why is functioning so hard? I can’t concentrate, hell I can barely keep my eyes open. Some days I just think I should be institutionalized and not have to deal with the would. I am tired of fighting my own brain. I want to go back to the hospital but I am afraid of what that will do to my job. Maybe I should get my knee replacement done that would be an acceptable reason to be out.

My concentratation is crap too. I'm sorry you're struggling. I am not an Expert so I can't really advise (and the Experts irl do not grace me with their ''wisdom''

I have no answers, but I did just post on a different thread today that I sometimes feel like I should just live at the hospital, where I could have some support. More, anyway. And help remembering to take my meds.

"I am not from this wold. I have special powers. I can see inside people's brains," Hillary Duff character, War Inc.

That's eactly how I feel about myself. I know I have special powers. God gave them to me, to us. Why the hell else do you think Van Gogh could paint like that? Because he was "normal?" You think Einstein thought the way he did because he was normal? Please. Gimme a break. We are different. Why not try to celebrate it, rather than feel bad and marginalized by it? I am trying to move in this direction.

My therapist does not believe that people with bipolar disorder are typically mentally ill; she believes that our brains are structured differently, but in a good way...that the problem is society doesn't understand our brains. I'm not exactly sure where meds come into that picture, but I do think about her assertion.

I often think of myself as an alien- not of the human race. We are different! I've always felt this way my whole life even though I was not diagnosed until age 33.

I am seeing my T four times this week because of how poor I am functioning and feel. That is a new record for me. I really probably should be in the hospital.

There is no shame in it, Crook. When we need it, we need it.

Why not give the ketamine a go? It is a totally different type of med. Works completely differently. It might work.

I have done ketamine many times. It worked well at first then it stopped working. It is a Hail Mary try and it just means they are out of ideas.
