Does anyone else rewatch the same two or three shows? I'm talking literally watching entire seasons of shows like 7 or 8 times over in a relatively short period of time. I find it extremely comforting and reassuring, but sometimes it can feel like being stuck in some kind of feedback loop.

I did that/am doing that with a couple shows. For me it's more because I like finding little nuiances in a show/hidden jokes than comfort, but it does feel like I'm in a loop.

ER is to me the best TV show ever! I cant tell you how any times I have watched , Its a constant part of my life it never gets old. altho its a very emotional show and has had me crying like a baby all the time.. It is a huge comfort when my life is overwhelming. I also have to book series that is my all time favorite that helps me escape.

I used to, yes. About 4 years ago I was in a terrible depression and those same shows were like watching friends. They were life savers. When my mood state improved I easily moved away from repeat watching.

Just a few more than 2 or 3, but yes, I am very much a repeat watcher. Favorite comedy shows especially. In fact, my criteria for actually owning something (yeah, dvds) is that it is something that is highly watchable again and again. My collection is quite small. Everything else I get out from the library.

I used to do this a lot. I could immerse myself as a means to escape reality. Also i could leave it on and not really pay attention to just think about other stuff.
